Mom’s Day Discount this Friday Night at SDS

Chico, CA ( May 5, 2019) …. Championship auto racing continues this Friday night, May 10th, at the Silver Dollar Speedway. With Mother’s Day set for Sunday, the Silver Dollar Speedway is proud to offer a discount price admission to all moms in attendance. All moms pay just $10.00 this Friday night on the grandstand side of the speedway. It might be a nice way to take mom and family to the race track.
The night itself will be presented by the AKB (Alliance Kingdom Builders) and the Paradise Alliance Church. The track would also like to thank Ward Habriel for his continued support of the speedway.
Pit gate opens at 4 PM. Front grandstand gate opens at 6 PM. Adult general admission is $15.00. Mother’s Day discount $10.00. Seniors (62+) and juniors (12-15) and military with proper i.d. are $13.00. Children (6-11) are $6.00. Kids five and under are FREE. Parking for fans is FREE. Racing is slated to start at 7 PM.
To avoid standing in long lines on race night to purchase tickets, there is an on-line ticket option located at www.silverdollarspeedway.com so fans can buy tickets in advance.
Three divisions will entertain the main grandstand crowd this Friday night. The winged 360 sprint cars, IMCA Sport Mods and Hobby Stocks are all slated to earn championship points.
Cherokee’s Kyle Allen is two-for-two in the Hobby Stocks divisions. Allen has won both 20-lap main events this season. Can anyone stop his dominance? The challengers are led by Shannon Collins, Mel Byers and James West. These three are going to need to head back to the drawing board and find more straightway speed.
Yuba City’s Brian Cooper and Grass Valley’s Andrew Peckham have each won an IMCA Sport Mod feature this year at Chico. Only one point separates these two modern day gladiators. Jimmy Ford has been close to victory lane and will look to add his name to the winners list this Friday night. Matt Micheli and Keith Brown are two of the top dogs in our area and will also be tough to beat.
This Friday marks the second point show of the year for the winged 360 sprint cars. Roseville’s Sean Becker, Auburn’s Andy Forsberg, Sacramento’s Willie Croft and Clarksburg’s Justyn Sanders are all expected to challenge for the win.
Competitors are encouraged to turn on Martin Luther King Blvd and then turn onto Silver Dollar Way by Costco to enter the back side of the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds.
