(May 30, 2021)                                                        FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cameron Haney Jr. and Kyle Cheney Shine at Chico

Give credit where credit is due. Both Cameron Haney Jr and Kyle Cheney showcased their talented driving skills Sunday night, May 30th, at the Silver Dollar Speedway during a dusty edition of the Silver Dollar Fair race.  Haney Jr. won the 20-lap Crate Sprint car feature by nearly three-seconds.  His post-race was epic as he did 360 donuts on the track in celebration of his win.  The crowd loved it and as he saluted them, they saluted him back.  It was a special moment.

Cheney won a shortened Hobby Stock feature after a hard crash in turn four brough an end to the race.  All drivers involved in turn four ended up being simply fine, but the time limit for the race had expired.  The event was a rough one for the competitors who battled each other and the slick racing conditions.  Zach Lindgren was spectacular all night and finished second.  Joe Gillock ran third.  Eddie Creedon was fourth.  Rounding out the top five was Maurice Merrill.  After the race Cheney was emotional and thrilled to win a race at Chico.

David Simms chased Haney Jr. but was never able to get that close to him.  Sims finished second in the main event.  Brett Youngman finished third.  Kevin Dozier was the highlight winner from heat one and finished fourth in the main event.  Dusty Barton rounded out the top five.  Simms edged out Youngman for the fastest lap in qualifying with a 16.454.

The special event was added to the schedule a few weeks prior.  We want to thank all the drivers, crews and family members who took the time to come race.
