Sanders Leads Overall Sprint Car Point Championship

Sprint Car Championship Continues Next Weekend
Chico, CA – (4-20-22) …On April 29th and 30th the excitement of open wheel winged sprint car racing returns to Silver Dollar Speedway. On Friday night, The Brownell-Herseth Classic will feature 410-winged sprint cars along with the B mods and Shelby’s Pest Control Hobby Stocks. The 10th edition of the David Tarter Memorial is on tap for Saturday night, April 30th, and will showcase the talented drivers of the NARC Fujitsu General 410 Sprint Cars series and the B mods.
Back in February, SLC Promotions (Sweet, Larson, Copeland) unveiled their payout and points structure to award an overall sprint car champion at Silver Dollar Speedway for 2022. The points fund will pay $6,000 to win and both 410 and 360 sprint car teams will be eligible for the grand prize and title of Silver Dollar Speedway 2022 Sprint Car Champion. The fund will pay the top five sprint car drivers at the end of the season.
After a successful two nights of racing at the Silver Cup in March, Aromas, CA driver Justin Sanders leads the winged sprint car point standings. Sanders holds a 14-point edge over second place driver Shane Golobic. Sacramento’s Kalib Henry sits in the third spot and is 26-points back of Sanders. Ryan Robinson and Willie Croft round out the top five. A full list of the current point standing is available at www.silverdollarspeedway.com then click on points for winged sprint cars.
Points will be awarded based on A-Main finishes at all events, with the winner earning 50 points. Second place will receive 46 points with a two point drop per position after. Fifty show-up points will also be given to all participants.
Racers will want to take note that the Saturday of Silver Dollar Speedway’s famed Gold Cup race will offer double points for position and participation.
