Proud Motorsports Purchases Didero Supermodified Operation For Full-Time Oswego Effort in 2022
OSWEGO, NY (December 14, 2021) - Proud Motorsports and driver Camden Proud are excited to announce their new addition of Doug Didero’s complete Supermodified operation, and plans to campaign the potent John Colloca Chassis weekly at Oswego Speedway in 2022.
“My excitement is through the roof to be able to bring the 3 home to our shop,” Proud said. “I want to thank my parents and sponsors for their tremendous support in making this possible, along with Doug Didero and John Colloca who have already gone above and beyond to help us through this process.”
Piloting the team’s 2010 Hawk car for one full season in 2019, as well as a handful of events in 2021, Proud earned a heat race win, a pair of top 10 finishes; including in the 65th International Classic, as well as Rookie of the Year honors with the former Strong Racing machine.
The acquisition of the No. 3 means upgrading to a 2018 chassis, complete with new equipment from top to bottom, and assembled with independent front suspension.
“It's no secret that being able to purchase equipment of this caliber is a big improvement for our team,” Proud continued. “We’re pumped to get to work familiarizing ourselves with the car, and hopeful this opportunity brings the success that we are striving for in the Supermodified class.”
Oswego Speedway’s 2022 season begins with the return of the historic Port City 150 on Saturday, May 28. Novelis Supermodifieds will headline with the 75-lap Jim Shampine Memorial serving as the first race for Proud in his new ride, which will again be sponsored by Ken’s Body Shop.
The full Oswego Speedway schedule is now available at OswegoSpeedway.com and shows nine events for the Oswego Supers as well as three Winged Challenge Series specials.
