Vanderheiden Collects First Career Win at Husets
BRANDON, S.D. (May 26, 2024) A long time coming for Cole Vanderheiden, the Nebraska shoe finally broke into Victory Lane at Husets Speedway on Sunday night in RaceSaver competition.
Making the race winning pass on Lap 12 over Logan Domagala, who had led the opening half of the RaceSaver feature event, eighth starting Vanderheiden cleared for point through the third and fourth turns.
In the recap provided by Inside Line Promotions, Cole said, “This is the best thing that’s ever (happened) in my life. This feels amazing. Starting in the back you have to be patient on the start. We found our way slowly and got to the front and I think I checked out.”
The high point of the weekend, which saw three of the scheduled four nights contested, things started Saturday at Eagle Raceway with a struggle that saw his night ending just shy of the transfer out of the B-Feature. Returning to Husets on Monday, Cole had a little tougher go with a 13th place finish.
