Hovis Auto and Truck Supply to Present 2019 Rush Sportsman Mod Weekly

(Pulaski, PA)...The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series powered by Pace Performance is pleased to announce that Hovis Auto & Truck Supply has become a major corporate marketing partner of RUSH for the upcoming 2019 season. Hovis, who has 17 locations throughout western Pennsylvania, will be the presenting sponsor of the RUSH Sportsman Modified Weekly, Touring, and Futures Cup Championship programs. In addition, Hovis will be a major presenting sponsor of the historic $10,000 to-win "Bill Emig Memorial" for the RUSH Late Model Touring Series at Lernerville Speedway June 20-22.

The RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will begin their sixth year of operations on Friday, April 12 when they join up with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for a Hovis Weekly Series special at Sharon Speedway. That event will kick-off the $3,000 to-win Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Weekly Series Championship- the richest of any "weekly" program for Sportsman Modifieds. The championship program utilizes member racers best 12 finishes throughout the season and pays the top 20 in points.

Back in January, RUSH announced the richest Crate Late Model race in the 13-year history of the Northeast would take place at Lernerville during the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series "Firecracker 100" weekend June 20-22. Hovis Auto & Truck Supply will be a major presenting sponsor of this historic $10,000 to-win Sweeney Touring Series event. The "Bill Emig Memorial" will draw RUSH racers from all over the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Canada plus numerous racers from the South have expressed interest. The Northeast's all-time record car count of 58 from 2016 at Tri-City Raceway Park is expected to be challenged.

"I can't tell you what it means to me to have Hovis Auto & Truck Supply come on board as a major corporate marketing partner of RUSH," stated Series Director Vicki Emig. "During my 11-year tenure as owner/promoter of Mercer Raceway Park, Hovis was one of, if not, the largest marketing partners at the track. In fact, Hovis presented several major events at Mercer including the 'Bill Emig Memorial', which at the time featured triple Big-Block Modified features. I think it's only fitting that when we get to work together again all these years later it once again be in conjunction with the 'Bill Emig Memorial', but this time because of his great support the event becomes a historical event!"

The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Touring Series for the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds gets underway on Saturday, April 27 for the division's first ever race at the 1/4-mile "Bullring" at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV in an $800 to-win event. A new Hovis "Futures Cup" Champion for eligible teenage racers will be crowned in 2019. Past champions include Kole Holden, Kyle Martell, Jeremy Weaver, and Blaze Myers. All four of these drivers have gone on to have a lot of success in the division.

While Sharon Speedway is the weekly home of the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway will host nine Hovis events including the "Monster Half-Mile's" first ever Hovis Touring Series event with $1,000 on the line during the "Pittsburgher 100" October 4-5 with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Along with the first ever Series race at Tyler County, another track to host its first ever event is Dog Hollow Speedway in Northern Cambria, Pa. with a Hovis Tour event on August 2. Other tracks to hold either Hovis Weekly or Tour events include Lernerville Speedway, Raceway 7, and Expo Speedway.

"Cliff has always been a big Modified fan," continued Emig. "I'm glad we were able to tie the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply name with our ever-growing Sportsman Modified division that's based right in the heart of his store locations. One thing we continually hear from our other sponsors is how loyal our racers are. It's no secret too that race fans are brand loyal to the products that are marketed across the Motorsports industry. With all of our Modified racers and fans along with Lernerville Speedway situated very close to one of, if not most, of the Hovis locations, we hope they will look to Hovis Auto & Truck Supply for all their automotive parts needs."
