Sarver, PA (July 8, 2022) After a few weeks off to make room for Lernervilles ˜Crown Jewel events, the Fab4 Revved Up with Marburger Farm Dairy was back in action on Friday, July 8. Track preparation guru, Dan Bauman had ˜The Action Track in tip-top shape for the Precise Racing Products Late Models, Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds, Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks and the 305 Sprints of the Allegheny Sprint Tour, who took the place of the Peoples Natural Gas 410 Sprints as they had the night off after the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XXXI that was won by NASCAR superstar, Kyle Larson, on Wednesday.
The Precise Late Models were up first as Mike Miller and Andrew Wylie led the field to their 25-lap feature event. Wylie used the outside line to take command early while seventh starting, Michael Norris also took advantage of the ultra-fast high side to catapult into the third spot curing the opening lap. Wylie held the lead until the pace was slowed by a caution on lap 4 or the spinning car of Logan Zarin. When racing resumed, Jared Miley, who started fourth, took the lead as Wylie jumped the cushion in turns one and two dropping him to the sixth position. With Miley now in front, Norris and Alex Ferree ran second and third. Tyler Dietz, who has become a top-five threat in recent weeks battled with Ferree for the third spot until Zarin pulled up lame on lap 7 to bring out another caution. Miley brought the field back to green, but Norris pulled off a slide job in turns three and four to take the top spot away on lap 8. Miley continued to pressure Norris for the lead while Ferree and Dietz raced for third. Dietz solidified himself in the third position on lap 13 when Ferree slowed on the front stretch to garner another caution. Norris brought the field back to the green flag with Miley on the outside. As the duo went into turns one and two, Miley jumped the cushion and fell back to the fifth spot and giving the second spot to Dietz who set his sights on Norris for the race lead. Dietz was able to get close a few times as Norris battled the cushion in turns one and two but could never mount a serious charge as Norris would go on to his first Lernerville feature event of the season by .932 seconds over Dietz. Jared Miley would rebound to finish third with John Garvin, Jr., in fourth and Mike Miller rounding out the top-five.
˜Weve had an up-and-down year, weve been fast, but I feel like Ive been a little bit off, an exhausted Norris said in Terry Bowser Excavating Victory Lane. ˜That was a pretty demanding track there, I think we may have knocked a couple plug wires off, it was running pretty bad there at the end but thanks to Gary (Henry) and Jeff, she (motor) held together. Our car was good, I just kept getting tighter as the car was stumbling a little bit, but Ill take it any way I can get it. Ive wanted to be here (victory lane) all year, I feel like we gave a couple away. We were good at the Firecracker, it just wasnt our year. Im just happy to be here.
Rex King, Jr., and Shawn Fleeger led the Diehl Modifieds to the green flag with King taking the lead with third starting Dave Murdick moving into the runner-up spot as Fleeger fell to seventh after getting out of shape coming out of turn two. King would go on to dominate the 25-lap caution-free feature and cross under the checkered flag by 8.4 seconds over Murdick who finished second. Jeremiah Shingledecker crossed the line third followed by Colton Walters in fourth and Garrett Krummert in fifth.
˜Weve had a horrible season, hats off to my brother (Russ), hes worked and worked on this thing, starting on the front row doesnt hurt and pretty sure it was one-lane on the top but, someone has to start there, well take it, ˜Cooter said in victory lane while celebrating his 30th career win at Lernerville. ˜I think this is the longest Ive gone with out a win, locally, so were happy to get this one.
Jarrett Rosencrance and Vivian Jones brought the Allegheny Sprint Tour 305s to the green flag with Rosencrance jumping out to the early lead as Jacob Gomola and Roman Jones both got upside down in turn two to bring out the red flag. Both drivers were okay after the incident. When racing went back to green, Justin Clark blasted his way into the lead from his fourth starting position. Clark would go on to control the 20-lap feature event to capture his fifth straight 305 sprint win and ninth total win on the 2022 season. Coming home second, 1.2 seconds behind Clark was fifth starting Greg Dobrosky while fifteenth starting Jim Morris in third. Jarrett Rosencrance was fourth with Tommy Jasen in fifth.
˜I started out the year running both this car and a 410 (sprint), at one point I just realized that I needed to focus on finishing out the season in my car (305) and see what kind of opportunities come about, Clark said in victory lane when asked if 410 racing is in his future. ˜If not (no opportunities) then hopefully well go down as a two-time national champion.
The final feature of the night was the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks where Tyler Dietz led all 20 laps enroute to his fourth Fab4 Revved Up with Marburger Farm Dairy win of the 2022 season. Dietz held off a hard charging Brett McDonald who finished second and tenth starting Chris Schneider who finished third. Jacob Dietz finished fourth followed by eleventh starting Todd Weldon who finished fifth.
˜I couldnt be happier, Dietz exclaimed in Terry Bowser Excavating Victory Lane after his second-place finish with the Precise Late Models and Millerstown Pro Stock win. ˜I would love to win a Late Model race on the same night that I won one of these (Pro Stock race), Im going to do everything I can to do that this year. Its awesome to be able to race with guys like (Mike) Norris, (Jared) Miley, and those guys. The last couple years Ive struggled and struggled in the Late Model but, I know I could run with them, I just couldnt prove it. Hopefully, after these past couple weeks, we can prove that we should run with those guys too. Dietz continued, ˜I have to thank everyone who helped put this car together, this motor wasnt even in this car until about 9 oclock last night. We found out weve been running it hurt the past few weeks. Happy that we were able to win tonight, maybe the motor was hurting us more than I thought.
