ASCS Red River Schedule Updated As Red River Speedway Closes

TULSA, Okla. (April 11, 2016) A post to Facebook was confirmed that the Red River Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas has ceased operations, thus cancelling this Saturday’s races with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products.

The post, published by track owners Craig and Teresa Martin, stated:

“We are going to take a break from the dirt track racing activities at RRS until further notice.
We will let you all know if we decide to host a special event at some point in the future, but for now we have no dirt track events scheduled.
Note that our dragstrip, Wichita Raceway Park is not affected by this announcement.
The owner of this complex has a very, very, full schedule with his primary business, and doesn't have the ability to 'clone' himself to do both at once - which is what a facility this size requires - especially since the other business is in Ft. Worth.
If you by chance are an individual that has the means and the amount of time required to purchase this facility, that is an option we might consider too. Serious inquiries - only - can be directed to us via private Facebook message on this page.
Thanks for your past support, and we will let you know if and when we decide to host another dirt track event at RRS.”

In regards to this past weekend's rain out at the Superbowl Speedway, officials are currently seeking a makeup date and will announce that as soon as one is found.

With the cancellation of this Saturday's races, several teams are now gearing up for the $5,000 to win season opener for the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs at Sedalia’s State Fair Speedway on Sunday, April 17.

The next events for the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products will take place Friday, April 22 with the series debut at the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan. followed by a showdown with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs at the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Mo. on Saturday, April 23.
