Lebanon, Oregon- After two great weekends of racing the Willamette Speedway is ready for another loaded night of action. Saturday May 4th will mark the third race of the 2013 season and will be billed as Fighting Against Hunger Night. Race fans that bring a can of non-perishable food will receive $2.00 off their general admission ticket. Classes that will be racing are the DIRTcar Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Mini Trucks.

“This is a great event to support the local community food bank,” commented Chris Nofziger, General Manager of Willamette Speedway, “we hope everyone can make it out and to the races Saturday. So far we’ve had some great nights of racing.”

Joey Tanner and Trevor Glaser are so far the only two drivers to visit victory lane in DIRTcar Super Late Model action. In IMCA Modifieds Kyle Yeack and Mark Carrell have won in dominating fashion in the first two races of the season. Clyde Rood made a late race move to win in the Sportsman division last week while Todd Miller won in the first race of the year.

David Cronk is so far the only driver to have won more than one main event in any classification. Cronk has had a very successful start to the 2013 campaign in the Street Stocks earning not just two consecutive feature wins, but two consecutive clean sweeps. The Mini Trucks are the only classification to have raced only once but Don Croy had his way with the field in the season opener on April 20th.

The pit gate opens at 1:00 PM, front gates 3:30 PM, and racing should be getting started around 6:00 PM. Admission to the race on Saturday is Adults $14.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $12.00, Youths (12 and Under) $6.00, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $35.00, and Pit Passes are $25.00. But remember if you bring a can of non-perishable food you receive a $2.00 discount for a general admission ticket.

The Willamette Speedway has operated since the 1960’s and is a facility where high car counts and great racing are the norm. The venue will hosts weekly action comprising of DIRTcar Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Sportsman, Super Sports, Street Stocks, and Mini Trucks.
