The second night of the Labor Day Classic at Willamette Speedway on Sunday September 1st was the polar opposite of the first one. A smooth night of racing would take place as the DIRTcar Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Sportsman, and Street Stocks were all on the card.

Jeremy Shank of Salem would make his first trip to victory lane in the DIRTcar Super Late Model ranks. Shank, in his Left Coast Motorsports/South Pacific Auto Sales and Service Center #30 Swartz, became the fifth different winner in the division this year.

Another new face to victory lane was Brett James of Albany and his James Gang Pizza/Linn-Benton Insurance/Lebanon Auto Body #26 GRT for the IMCA Modifieds. After Sunday night there have been twelve different winners in the Modifieds at Willamette Speedway.

Keeping the theme of new winners in 2013 was in the Super Sport division. Veteran driver Mike Betker, in the Aldrich Trucking #22, was the big winner and there have now been seven different winners in the class.

Some familiar names would grace victory lane for the Sportsman and Street Stock ranks. Ron Berry of Salem would win for the third time this year in his Les Schwab Tire Center/Prehn's Performance Engineering #97 Rayburn. Portland’s David Cronk was back in the winner’s circle after a brief absence to put his Metro Services/Gasner Trucking #29 Camaro in victory lane for the seventh time this year.

Willamette Speedway will be back in action on Tuesday September 3rd for the World Of Outlaw Sprint Series. The IMCA Modified will be the support class for this event. The World Of Outlaw Sprints features some of the best drivers on the planet and if you missed the race last year you missed a good one.

On Saturday September 7th Willamette Speedway will be back at it with their regular program. Classes scheduled to be in action are the DIRTcar Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, and Sportsman.
