Willamette Speedway Primed And Ready For Strawberry Cup Weekend Doubleheader

Lebanon, Oregon- One of the most historic races in the entire state of Oregon will take place this weekend at Willamette Speedway, the Strawberry Cup. It will all be kicked off with the Karts hosting their third race of the season on Friday June 6th. Then on Saturday the 7th the historic Strawberry Cup will be ran for the fifty-third year on the historic 1/3-mile clay oval. Classes in action include the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models, Wirth Wireless IMCA Modifieds, Crocker’s Cars Super Sports, Albany & Eastern Railroad Sportsman, and Street Stocks.

The X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models come back after a week off and Joey Tanner enters the Strawberry Cup with two wins this year including the Clair Cup final on Sunday May 25th. Steve Moore and John Duty are the only other feature winners in 2014.

The Wirth Wireless IMCA Modifieds have produced five different winners in five races. Kyle Yeack, Monte Bischoff, Craig Cassell, Collen Winebarger, and most recently Matt Mitchell have graced victory lane. In the Crocker’s Cars Super Sports have had three different winners in as many nights including Gil Pickett, Tim Archer, and Bricen James.

In the Albany & Eastern Railroad Sportsman classification Briley Pompe, Ron Berry, Jeff Rash, Brian Winkler, and Jeff Marson have managed one triumph each. And finally in the Street Stocks Justin Evans has two wins over Bricen James who has won once.

General admission to the Friday Kart race will be FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $30.00. The Pit Gate will open up around 4:00 PM and Racing is scheduled to begin around 6:30.

On Saturday the Pit Gates will open at 1:00 PM, the Pit Meeting will take place at 2:30, Front Gates open at 3:30, and Racing starts at 6:00. Tickets for this event are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
