Big Labor Day Weekend For Willamette Speedway; Increased Purses For Both Nights Of Action

Lebanon, Oregon- The Willamette Speedway will be quite busy as the 1/3-mile clay oval will host the Valley Agriculture Harvest Spectacular on Saturday August 30th and Sunday the 31st. Both dates will have an increased purses with Saturday’s courtesy of the fine folks at Crocker’s Cars and on Sunday the fine folks at Mitchell, Crossan, Hayes, and Hull Farms. Both nights will conduct the normal Willamette Speedway format. The classes in action for both days include the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models, Crocker’s Cars Super Sports, Albany & Eastern Railroad Sportsman, and Street Stocks.

The purses on Saturday August 30th will be $1,500.00 to win the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Model feature, an increase of $500.00. For the Crocker’s Cars Super Sports, Albany & Eastern Railroad Sportsman, and Street Stocks money has been added to the top three finishing spots in each division. First place will receive an additional $250.00, second $150.00, and third $100.00.

On Sunday evening the purses will be increased but for just the winner and double the normal amount. For the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models it will be $2,000.00 to win while the Crocker’s Cars Supers Sports is $500.00 to win, the Albany & Eastern Railroad Sportsman $400.00 to win, and finally the Street Stocks $200.00 to win.

In addition to the purse increases the folks at Crocker’s Cars will be raffling off a total of four bicycles for children at the age of twelve and under, two bikes will be raffled off per night. Also the great people at HighOctane Die Cast will also be doing some fun activities as they will raffle off a Family Pass on Saturday and Sunday a pair of General Admission tickets for the World Of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event, on Tuesday September 2nd, will be raffled as well. In order to be eligible for the HighOctane Die Cast raffle you must be wearing a HighOctane Die Cast t-shirt/hat or a 2014 Willamette t-shirt/sweatshirt.

Joey Tanner still has the most amount of victories in the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Model division with three visits to victory lane. Drivers with two triumphs include Rob Mayea and Justin Duty while John Duty, Trevor Glaser, Steve Moore, Casey Vitale, and Collen Winebarger have one win apiece. Mayea currently leads the point standings battle.

Bricen James has had an impressive to say the least 2014 campaign in the Crocker’s Cars Super Sports with his six wins while Gil Pickett is the only other repeat winner with his three trips to the winner’s circle. Brian Thompson, Randy Barley, and Tim Archer have one win to their credit. James has a comfortable points lead headed into the final month of action.

Brian Smith and Jeff Rash are level on the win list with three wins to both drivers in the current campaign. Brian Winkler, Briley Pompe, and Ron Berry have two wins each while Steve Moore, Jeff Marson, and Sandy Sanders have a single victory to their credit. Brian Winkler has tallied the most markers thus far in the points table.

Kyle Yeack and Justin Evans enter the weekend level on top of the win chart with three victories and Bricen James is the only other repeat winner with two trips to victory lane. Erik Jarnport and Ron Shinkle have managed to find success one just a single occasion in 2014. Bricen James also finds himself the point leader of the Street Stocks going into the month of September.

On Saturday and Sunday the Pit Gates will open at 1:00 PM, the Pit Meeting will take place at 2:30, Front Gates open at 3:30, and Racing starts at 6:00. Tickets each night are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
