Lebanon, Oregon- Brian Cronk, of Portland, is excited to get back to racing this Saturday May 9th at Willamette Speedway after his performances last week. The word performance is pluralized because he raced in two different divisions. Cronk was second in the Super Dirt Car feature, in his Metro Services/Dog Lover's Gold Dog Food/Northwest Gas Lines/Rose City RV #29 Rocket, and managed to finish fourth in the IMCA Modifieds, chauffeuring the Shaw chassis. Brian finished sixth in his first Super Dirt Late Model race of the season, on April 18th, while in his first ever IMCA Modified appearance, on the 25th, he was 10th in the main event.

“After a few races it really hasn't been too bad,” commented Cronk, “last weekend was good because anytime you can run with Trevor (Glaser) or Rob (Mayea) you know your going in the right direction.”

He will have a little bit easier time this weekend because the IMCA Modifieds are off so he will concentrate all of his efforts on the Super Dirt Late Model. The last time he visited victory lane was back on September 14th in 2013 earning a clean sweep after setting fast time while also winning both the trophy dash and heat race. That also was significant because not only was it the night of his first career Late Model win, the 1/3-mile clay oval, but it was also his twenty-first birthday.

In 2014 he finished second three times and was in the top five ten times resulting in a third place in the final standings. This year he'll be bouncing back and fourth between the Late Model and Modified.

“I'm not putting any real emphasis on one car this year,” he would continue, “I want to travel to some of the other tracks and race some of the big Mod races but mainly just have fun.”

Willamette Speedway will be hosting Ladies Night which means all ladies get into the races for just $5.00. Other classes racing include the Super Sports, Sportsman, and Street Stocks. Pit Gates will open at 1:00 PM, the Pit Meeting will take place at 2:30, Front Gates open at 3:30, and Racing starts at 6:00. Tickets for this event are Adults $14.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
