Lebanon, Oregon- Over the 2014-15 offseason Tom Yeack changed directions a little bit in his racing program. After spending the last few years in the IMCA Modifieds he decided to switch things up and convert the Cascade Outdoor Power Equipment/Unlimited Business Services #49 Pro into a Sportsman. So far the results are paying off a he has one win and second place finish to his credit in only a couple of starts for the Crawfordsville native.
“I wanted to do something different this year,” said Yeack, “my chassis was getting old and it was hard to stay competitive with the Mods. So far it's been a great season.”
As stated above the results are paying off. But 2014 wasn't too bad of year for him in the Modifieds. Last season Tom finished fourth in local track points and posted four top fives including a third place finish on April 19th.
“It's nice to have a competitive car right out of the box,” he would continue, “I think it should be a top five car all year long but there are some really fast cars in the class.”
In addition to the Sportsman racing on Saturday so will the IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, and Street Stocks. Pit Gates will open at 1:00 PM, the Pit Meeting will take place at 2:30, Front Gates open at 3:30, and Racing starts at 6:00.
