Willamette Speedway Set For May 30th Race Date

Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway will have just one race on the menu this weekend. Saturday May 30th is the lone date for the historic 1/3-mile clay oval. Classes in competition include the Northwest Extreme Late Models Series, Super Sports, Sportsman, and Street Stocks. Also the Dwarf Cars will be making their return for the first time in a few seasons.
The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series is coming off of a busy weekend at Sunset Speedway Park where they raced on Saturday May 23rd and Sunday the 24th. Dave Walters and Jason Johnson would be the weekend's winners but Joey Tanner still has the most wins this season with two.
In the Super Sports the first multi-feature winner would emerge last weekend. It was Gil Pickett who won the finale on Sunday night to capture his second win of the campaign. Drivers with one win include Randy Barley, Chris Mott, Clay Debban, and Brian Smith.
In the Sportsman division Sandy Sanders and Tom Yeack are tied for most wins in the current campaign. Both have won twice and drivers with just a single win include Kevin Williamson, Jeff Rash, and Dennis Archer.
Kyle Yeack swept last weekend's action in Street Stock competition. With two wins this season he is close to drawing level with Justin Evan's three 2015 victories. Two drivers have recorded just one win this year and they are Bricen James and Steve Jorgensen.
The Northwest Dwarf Cars have been in action a total of three times this year all of which have been staged at Sunset Speedway Park in Banks. In three races there have been three different winners including Christopher McCleary, Guy Tow Jr., and defending champion Ryan Martinez.
Pit Gates will open at 1:00 PM, the Pit Meeting will take place at 2:30, Front Gates open at 3:30, and Racing starts at 6:00. Tickets are Adults $14.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
