Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway would compete on Saturday, July 29th, for the Rick Barnes Memorial. The event would be run in memory of longtime track worker, Rick Barnes, and was presented by the good folks at Lassen Chevrolet-Toyota and Lassen RV. Four classes were on the card including the IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Street Stocks, and Hornets.
John Campos took care of business in the IMCA Modified division. The Keizer driver became the first two-time feature winner in the class this season. In the Super Sports Dan Deibele continued his dominance. Deibele, from Lebanon, has six wins in 2017 and is the only repeat feature winner.
Justin Evans picked up his first win of the current campaign in the Street Stocks. The Lebanon regular is now the fifth different driver that has visited victory lane. Crystal Flath earned a huge victory in the Hornets, her second of the season. It was the first time that the young lady from Vancouver, Washington had gotten in a terrible crash earlier in the season.
Willamette Speedway returns to racing on Saturday, August 5th, for Drivers Appreciation Night. All six regular classes will take on the historical 1/3-mile clay oval. Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Hornets will fill the pit area.
