Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway would kick off one of it’s biggest weekends of the year on Friday, May 25th. The 1/3-mile speed factory would host the first night of the Clair Cup, a race which honors the track’s late longtime owner/operator Clair Arnold. Six classes were on tap including Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, IMCA Sport Mods, Sportsman, and Street Stocks.

Trent Elliott would score an impressive win in the Super Late Model ranks, the first of the new campaign for the La Pine driver. Corbett’s Collen Winebarger would once again be victorious as he recorded his third IMCA Modified triumph of 2018 at Willamette. In the Super Sports, Lebanon youngster McLain Beaudoin would cross the checker flags first but unfortunately after postrace inspection would be disqualified giving the win to the runner-up B.J. Donofrio.

Mike Medel, from Medford, was able to park it in victory lane for the first time this year in the IMCA Sport Mod ranks. James Slover, racing for Clyde Rood, would put it in the winner’s circle in the Sportsman main event, also his first win of the year. And last but not least Gresham’s Kevin Roberts would finally collect his first win of the season, after so many close second, in the Street Stocks.

Willamette Speedway returns for the second and final night of the 2018 Clair Cup on Saturday, My 26th. The same six classes from Friday night will be competing and there should be another action packed installment for those who attend.

Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM, Front Gates 3:30, and Racing at 6:00. Tickets are $14.00 for Adults, Junior/Military/Senior $10.00, Youth (6-12) $5.00, 5 and Under FREE, and a Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) $35.00. For more information log on to www.trophymotorsports.com.
