Dale McDowell opens 2020 season at Screven for Winter Freeze X

Dale McDowell kicked off the 2020 season on Friday night at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Georgia) piloting the Shane McDowell Racing No. 17m Late Model entry. Drawing 24 cars for the two-day Winter Freeze X, McDowell posted the fifth fastest lap in his time trial group before placing 4th in his heat. Coming one spot shy of a Top-5 finish in the feature, Dale improved seven spots to register a 6th place finish.

On Saturday evening, Dale followed up the second fastest lap in his time trial group behind John Henderson with a 10-lap heat race victory. Earning the fourth-starting position for the $20,010-to-win main event, McDowell dropped one spot in the 60-lapper to place 5th behind Brandon Overton, Ross Bailes, Michael Page, and Jason Covert.
