Inaugural Daniel Lambert Memorial Postponed Due to Hurricane Helene

(Eastaboga, AL - September 25, 2024) – The Inaugural Daniel Lambert Memorial event scheduled for this weekend at Screven Motor Speedway has been postponed. The decision comes in light of severe weather conditions expected from Hurricane Helene, which is about to made landfall in the Gulf of Mexico, bringing anticipated rain and storms to the area. Both track and series officials are trying to figure out a possible makeup date for this event in the near future.

The return of the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series to Screven Motor Speedway was highly anticipated, marking the series’ first visit to the facility since 2011. Unfortunately, September has proven to be a challenging month for racing, with only one of the four scheduled weekends of racing being completed. Events at East Bay and Waycross were also impacted by inclement weather, and now Screven joins the list.

"We were really looking forward to honoring Daniel Lambert and returning to Screven," said a Crate Racin' USA Series Director Adam Stewart. "However, the safety of our drivers, teams, and the fans is our top priority. We appreciate everyone's understanding that this was best for the track and the series, with the expected forecast."

Looking ahead, the series is gearing up for the 4th Annual Red Farmer Tribute at Talladega Short Track on October 4th and 5th in Eastaboga, AL. This exciting event coincides with NASCAR weekend at Talladega Super Speedway and will co-headline with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series for two action-packed nights of racing.

Fans and teams can look forward to an unforgettable weekend celebrating NASCAR Hall of Famer Red Farmer. Racing will also include Talladega Sportsman, Hot Shots, CRUSA Modifieds, CRUSA Late Model Sportsman, and Factory Stocks. For more details on the weekend, please visit Talladegashorttrack.com.
