Gary Cunningham Memorial and Twin 358 Features on Saturday Night

THOROLD, ONTARIO (June 17, 2024) … Cotton Inc. will be presenting the annual Gary Cunningham Memorial for the Southern Ontario Sprints this coming Saturday night at Merrittville Speedway.

It is also Toonie Hot Dog Night. All hot dogs on the grandstand side will be on sale for just a Toonie ($2).

The SOS will be joined by twin features for the 358 Modifieds, plus Hoosier Stocks, Mod Lites, 4 Cylinders, and the popular School Bus races.

The Gary Cunningham Memorial is held annually at Merrittville in honor of the renowned engine builder who passed away in 2010 at just 61 years of age. Gary’s competitive spirit lives on in the hearts of many local racers including his son Travis, an accomplished racer in both a 360 Sprint Car, and a 358 Modified. Travis also served as a track announcer at both Merrittville and Humberstone, as well as being co-host of the Southern Ontario Dirt Show podcast with Merrittville Speedway announcer Jonathon Howe.

Pit Gates will open at 5pm, grandstands open at 5:30pm, and racing will get underway at 7pm.
