Southern Ontario Sprints Return to Merrittville This Saturday Night

THOROLD, ONTARIO (July 15, 2024) … Fastek will be presenting the racing program this coming Saturday night at Merrittville Speedway. The 2024 season continues on Saturday, July 20 for Memorabilia Contest Night, where fans can show off their retro t-shirts and other memorabilia from the speedway’s past.

The on-track racing action will feature the Southern Ontario Sprints, Semenuk’s ESSO/Baron Roofing DIRTcar Sportsman, RONA/Doidge Builders Mod Lites, and the Vansickle Pet Valu/PV on the Lane 4 Cylinders. The Vintage Cars will also be part of the program.

This will be the third appearance of the season by the Southern Ontario Sprints. Dylan Westbrook won the Spring Sizzler back in April, while Cory Turner won the Gary Cunningham Memorial last month. After the July 20 stop, the SOS will return to Merrittville on September 7.

With the Commercial Auto Electric 358 Modifieds having the night off this coming Saturday night, Gary Lindberg leads Fred Carleton and Chad Brachmann by just two points. Cody McPherson leadls Adam Leslie by 78 points in the Semenuk’s ESSO/Baron Roofing DIRTcar Sportsman. Mark Fawcett leads Dave Bailey by just four markers in the Hoosier Stocks. The Hoosier Stocks will also have the night off on July 20. The RONA/Doidge Mod Lites sees Josh Sliter leading teammate Brent Begolo by 24 points. Alex Riley leads Ken Hair by two points in the Vansickle Pet Valu/PV on the Lane 4 Cylinders.
