Kraig Kinser Ready for California Challenge in Chico and Stockton

Inside Line Promotions – TULARE, Calif. (March 12, 2019) – Kraig Kinser is heading to a pair of California race tracks this weekend.

Kinser and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series will visit Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico on Friday for the Silver Dollar Shootout presented by Reibes NAPA Auto Parts and Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton on Saturday for the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown.

“We’ve ran in Chico and Stockton quite a bit,” he said. “We know what to expect. You have to start off strong with some nice laps early and then hopefully it works out from there. The No. 1 goal is to unload strong. We’ll take it one step at a time and see how we end up after qualifying and adjust from there.”

Kinser enters the weekend seeking his first top 10 of the season.

“We need to get qualified better and that will help set us up for success,” he said. “These tracks are enjoyable to race at. All the tracks have their own personalities and the fans out here in California love sprint car racing.”

Kinser competed last Saturday at Thunderbowl Raceway, where the opening night of the doubleheader rained out on Friday.

Kinser timed in 18th quickest on Saturday. A seventh-place run in a heat race relegated him to the Last Chance Showdown, which he won to transfer into the rear of the main event. Unfortunately, Kinser was caught up in an early crash that resulted in a DNF.

“We didn’t get qualified good on Saturday,” he said. “That’s been our struggle this year. When you start in the back of features you never know what’s going to happen. We were in the wrong spot at the wrong time. It’s a product of being bottled up on the start.”
