Summer Thunder Sprint Series to Take on Grays Harbor Raceway

Four classes of cars will take to the 3/8 banked clay oval this Saturday night. The Summer Thunder Sprint Series, Cut Rate Auto Parts Street Stocks, Shipwreck Beads Modifieds and the PHRA Dwarf Cars will hit the track bringing an action packed night of racing to Grays Harbor Raceway.

This will be the first appearance of 2017 for the Summer Thunder Sprint Series as Jason Solwold of Burlington has a 30 point lead over Marysville's Colton Heath. The rest of the top five has Quilcene's JJ Hickle, Austen Wheatley of Lake Stevens and Snohomish driver Chase Goetz rounding out the top five. With three races in on the series, there has been two different winners. Austen Wheatley picked up opening night at the Yakima Dirt Track on March 31st, with Jason Solwold winning the second night on April 1st. Solwold became the first repeat winner on May 6th at Skagit Speedway.

The Shipwreck Beads Modifieds will once again take to the raceway, as they had last weekend off. Shelton's Scott Miller was the most recent winner back on May 20th. Seabeck's Kyler Moore, Aberdeen driver Zack Simpson, Blair Shoemaker of Selah and Cosmopolis driver Tom Sweatman rounded out the top five. Expect a great field of modifieds, with some action packed, side by side racing action throughout the evening!

Hoquiam's Jack Parshall picked up his first win of 2017 last Saturday night with a hard fought battle with Aberdeen driver Shane Kerrigan. Jason Tole of Hoquiam, Montesano's Scott Fritts, and Elma driver Ryen Haney rounded out the top five. Parshall will look to continue his momentum and take a shot at two in a row this Saturday night.

The first appearance of the PHRA Dwarf Cars will take to Grays Harbor Raceway this Saturday night. Last time the PHRA Dwarf Cars took to the raceway, Gaston, Ore driver Corey Estaban went on to pick up the win, over James Brinster, Scappoose, Ore's Jake VanOrtwick, Henry Corbin III of Molalla, Ore, and Roseburg, Ore driver Brian Smith. The PHRA Dwarf Cars put on a great show every time they make an appearance!

It will be an action packed night at Grays Harbor Raceway. Gates open at 5:30PM with racing beginning at 7PM.
