An exciting night of racing at Grays Harbor Raceway under blue skies and low 70’s degree weather. Eston Whisler from Oris Oregon from come up to Grays Harbor Raceway and pick up the $2000 to win night 1 of the Modified Clash. Brayden Brookshire picked up the win in the IMCA SportMods and Anthony Pope won the NW Dwarf Car Main event.
Austin Rognlin and Kevin Williamson led the field to green with Williamson taking the lead until the caution came out with contact between Brenton Schnitzer and Kyler Moore. On the restart Williamson would take off with Jeffrey Hudson in second and Ian Whistler in 3rd and Nick Trenchard in 4th. On lap 7 Whisler would take over 2nd and then set his sights on the leader. Tyson Blood would quickly move up from 11th and have a great battle with Matthew Drager and Geoff Morris while they all got into lapped traffic and Whisler would take advantage and take the lead from Williamson on lap 17 and set sail and hold off for the victory. Kevin Williamson would come home second, Jeffrey Hudson would finish 3rd, and Nick Trenchard in a great battle would hold off Tyson Blood for the 4th and final lock in spot for Sunday Night. Heat race wins would go to Austin Rognlin, Tyson Blood, Eston Whisler, Jake Walters, Kevin Williamson, Matthew Drager.
In the IMCA SportMods Brayden Brookshire would pick up the win over Payton Harding and would also pick up the heat race win earlier in the night
The NW Dwarf Cars would bring 22 cars to Grays Harbor for the first of 2 points races this weekend. The Martins would lead the field to green with Brad Martin taking the lead until Anthony Pope would power around and then hold off Brad on a few occasions where the caution would come out when the action was just getting really good and pick up the win. Brad Martin would finish second, Jeremy Martin third, Corey Esteban fourth and Kyle Pope fifth after Josh Rogers was coming up through the field and while running 5th would make some contact in turn 4 and them spin out in turn 1 with 3 to go. Anthony Pope, Rob Glenney, and Jeremy Martin would win the Heat races.
Grays Harbor Raceway is back tomorrow May 25th with the second night of the Modified Clash, with Modifieds, SportMods, and the NW Dwarf Cars, and a Giant Fireworks show after the races.
