USAC Sprint Car National Championships Friday and Saturday at Lakeside Speedway!

(Kansas City, Kansas) Special-events racing continues this Friday and Saturday as Lakeside Speedway hosts the USAC Sprint Car National Championships. The Friday program features 410 Sprints, the Midwest Wingless Racing Association sprints, E-Mods and IMCA Mod-Lites. Saturday’s program features 410 Sprints, Midwest Wingless Racing Association sprints, and E-Mods.

According to www.usacracing.com, Friday’s event features qualifying, heat races, and a $6,000-to-win, 30-lap main event with starting positions determined by qualifying time, 6 fastest at the front, with the 6 fastest qualifiers who transferred through their heat races inverted by their qualifying time in the first three rows, positions 1-6. If a heat race winner is not in the top-6 inversion, that driver will line up directly behind the six-car invert, based on their qualifying time, followed by the balance of the field based on qualifying time. A total of 22 starting cars (not including earned provisional starters).

On Saturday, the program once again features qualifying, heat races, and a 30-lap feature event, which pays $7,500 to win. Starting positions are determined by qualifying time, 6 fastest at the front, with the 6 fastest qualifiers who transferred through their heat races inverted by their qualifying time in the first three rows, positions 1-6. If a heat race winner is not in the top-6 inversion, that driver will line up directly behind the six-car invert, based on their qualifying time, followed by the balance of the field based on qualifying time. 22 starting cars (not including earned provisional starters).

Local E-Mods are part of the program on both nights of racing and will earn track points throughout the weekend. Mod-Lites are on the Friday program and these drivers will earn IMCA Mod-Lite points during their portion of the program.

The timeline for this weekend’s events. Pits Open 3 PM, Grandstands Open 5 PM, Drivers Meeting at 6 PM, Hot Laps at 6:30 PM, followed by qualifying and racing. All times Central Standard Time.
