(Kansas City, Kansas) Friday’s edition of ‘Racing on the River’s Edge’ at Lakeside Speedway features the Fourth Annual Gary D Stock Car Special Event, plus A-Mods, B-Mods, Pure Stocks, and E-Mods in a full night of RPM ground-pounding excitement.
Mother Nature was not on the side of drivers and fans at several area tracks last weekend, Lakeside Speedway included, but that has not dampened the spirits of track officials and staff as they prepare for an exciting Independence Day weekend beginning on Friday with the fan-favorite Gary D Stock Car Special Event.
This event honors both Gary Dellinger and Gary Davis, both past employees of, long-time fans of, and most importantly, friends, of Lakeside Speedway as solidified by the naming of the Gary Dellinger Memorial Pit Building, where drivers check in to race and the Gary Davis Lineup Memorial Road, where the drivers line up and stage to race.
The payout for the Stock Car Main Event is $3,000-to-win and at least $250-to-start. All total the purse for this event exceeds $13,000! Full payout for Joe Berry Clash of the B-Mods: 1. $3000, 2. $2000, 3. $1000, 4. $900, 5. $700, 6. $600, 7. $500, 8. $450, 9. $400, 10. $350, 11. $300, 12th 24th. $250. Tow money is $50. The Stock Car entry fee for NASCAR-licensed drivers is $40 and includes pit pas. For non-licensed drivers, the entry fee is $60 and includes pit pass and temporary NASCAR license.
On Friday, Pits Open 5PM, Grandstands Open 6PM, Driver Pill Draw Closes 6:45PM, Pit Meeting 7PM, Hot Laps 7:15PM and Racing begins at 7:45PM (or immediately following hot laps). Ticketing and admission information follows: General Admission: Adults (16+) $20, Seniors/Military $15, Juniors (12-15) $5, Under 12 FREE. Suites: Adults (13+) $25, Kids (2-12) $10, Under 2 FREE. Terrace: Adults (16+) $20, Seniors/Military $15, Juniors (12-15) $5, Under 12 FREE. For Suite and Terrace availability call (913) 299-9206. Pit Passes: 7 and Older $35 • Under 7 years $15. Minors 17 and under must have signed Minor Release to enter the pits.
For those unable to make it in person, you may watch the event live via pay-per-view by pointing your web browser to www.lakesideSpeedway.TV. Once on the website, in the top left area of the page next to the Lakeside Speedway logo, click on “Upcoming Live” and from there select the event from the menu that appears and follow the payment prompts and questions. The fee is $19.99.
