(Kansas City, Kansas) It was an exciting evening of ‘Racing on the River’s Edge’ at Lakeside Speedway Friday as season-long track champions were crowned along with the annual Noah’s Bandage Project fundraiser with help from drivers, fans, and track staff.

The 2021 season champions are: A-Mods Nic Bidinger of Perry, Kansas; B-Mods Mark Schafman of Edwardsville, Kansas; Stock Cars Kacey “Cam” Shields of Kansas City, Missouri; Pure Stocks Marshall Jewett of Gardner, Kansas; and E-Mods Trevor Hand of Bonner Springs, Kansas.

E-Mod Results (26 Cars) The annual E-Mod explosion highlighted the racing portion of the night’s program with Zach Boyd taking home $1,000 for his victory from pole position. It was a full event for the E-Mods with 26 cars on hand, which bumped the pay to the 1,000-to-win pinnacle for having 25 or more cars signed in. Michael Taylor advanced from fifth to finish runner up, with Chris Dishong, Kevin White, and Buz Kaster completing the top five.

In the battle for the E-Mod track points championship it was Trevor Hand who took the title, although bad luck struck in the night’s main event, Hand’s stellar season at Lakeside Speedway produced six wins in 11 total races and a comfortable points margin of victory by 158 over runner-up Dennis Melvin.

The annual Noah’s Bandage Project raised $1,500 courtesy of the generous racing family contributions and took in 170 boxes of donated band-aids. Noah Wilson was diagnosed with cancer in April of 2014 (when he was only 6 years old), but never let it change his passion to help others. He always had a huge heart and was constantly looking for ways to help people. His love for others did not change even when he was facing a devastating diagnosis. When his treatment began, he found himself getting pokes almost daily.

The hospital where he was being treated did not have cool bandages, leaving the children there having to settle for the boring brown ones. Noah saw this as an opportunity to help his fellow patients and decided that he wanted to start collecting cool and fun bandages for his new friends. Noah knew that a bandage is so much more than just a wound cover and wanted to help others. Noah passed away in June of 2015, but not before starting his Bandage Project and making a huge difference in the world. In honor of Noah and his legacy, Noah’s Bandage Project continues and will continue to help kids across the globe.
