Howard Moore Kicks Off 2023 at the Chili Bowl

Howard Moore brought his 2023 season to life on Monday evening at the Tulsa (Okla.) Expo Center with the opening round of the 37th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals.

Sixty-six Midgets took to the 1/5-mile oval, and Howard hit the ground running with a seventh-to-third run in his heat race followed by a seventh-place finish in his Qualifier aboard his Chris Chappue Racing No. 41x CIMCO Inc. General Contractors entry.

Rolling off fifth on the B-Main grid, Moore advanced to a fourth-place finish, which locked him into the 23rd-starting spot for the 30-lap preliminary feature.

Enjoying a solid run in the main event, Howard passed eight entries to finish 15th.

He'll resume competition on Saturday night.
