Jack gets back in a Kart
After a nearly 2 year hiatus from racing go karts Jack got back in the saddle this weekend at Londonderry Raceway for the first time. The team just got the kart together Friday night before racing Saturday morning so we were not expecting a whole lot out of the day other than seat time and a couple of notes. The day actually went a lot better than expected. Jack held his own during the two practices, mixing it up with a couple of different karts and holding steady with the pack. He drew 6th for the heat race, starting last on the outside. After dropping to 7th at the start of the heat he drove up to 5th but battled a loose kart throughout the race. Starting 5th in the feature, in the inside lane Jack fared a little better driving up to 4th with the lead pack before a bad skid out of the corner cost him his momentum and the draft. Jack held on to 5th spot for awhile when another bad bounce had him gathering it up and cost him another spot. With time running out and the kart still bouncing, Jack held on for a 6th place finish. The team is off this weekend for Jack’s Canaan banquet but will be back on the 28th at Londonderry Raceway.
