Baughman Set for Texas Doubleheader at Lubbock and Abilene This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – ODESSA, Texas (July 8, 2014) – Following a fun holiday weekend away from the track, Josh Baughman is back in action this weekend for a Texas doubleheader with the ASCS Lone Star Region.

Baughman will compete on Friday at Lubbock Speedway in Lubbock and on Saturday at Abilene Speedway in Abilene.

“Lubbock is a fun track,” he said. “It’s a big quarter mile or small 3/8 mile. It races different in both turns. You never know what you are going to get.”

Baughman had maneuvered into the top 10 when he was involved in a race-ending crash during his lone event at the track earlier this season. A similar issue occurred during Baughman’s only trip to Abilene Speedway.

“The last time we were there we got caught up with a lapped car,” he said. “This time I need to be a little more patient. It usually gets real slick around the bottom. If you can figure out how to get around the top you have a good chance at winning it.”

Baughman’s last performance in late June yielded a pair of top 10s, which has provided him and his Jason Johnson Racing team with momentum.

“Momentum is good to have on your side,” he said. “Right now we have some on our side and we’re going to try to capitalize on it.”
