WESTERN “CLASSIC” SPRINTS AT MADERA JUNE 11; PIEROVICH TAKES ROSEVILLE’S “LARRY BURTON CLASSIC”
Madera (Calif.) Speedway is next up for USAC’s Western Classic Sprints, with a June 11 race on tap.
Scott Pierovich and Tony Hunt will try to protect respective USAC point leads in the Madera contest after their 1-2 finish in Saturday night’s “Larry Burton Classic” at the All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif.
Pierovich, of Alamo, Calif. passed Luis Ramos III on the 14th lap and led the rest of the way to win Saturday night’s 50-lap AMSOIL Western/Western Classic Sprint race at Roseville
Fast qualifier Tony Hunt took second ahead of Ramos, Cody Gerhardt and Audra Sasselli. Hunt emerged as the Western Sprint point leader, while Pierovich is five points ahead of Hunt in the Western Classic standings.
