McQUEEN LEADS WESTERN MIDGETS TO “AL POMBO CLASSIC”
Lady driver Shannon McQueen of Tehachapi, Calif., seeking her first USAC driving title, stands atop the USAC Mopar Western Midget standings entering this Saturday’s “Al Pombo Classic” at the Madera (Calif.) Speedway.
McQueen has an 18-point lead over David Prickett, who finished as last year’s series runner-up.
McQueen has a third and a fifth so far this year but in April her car was driven to victory at Bakersfield by fellow female driver Michelle Decker!
Only one driver has been able repeat at a feature winner so far in the series and that is Ryan Bernal.
