The Ohio Valley Speedway welcomed a great crowd and packed pit area for the 4th Annual Keith Barker Memorial presented by Las Trancas Mexican Restaurant. A picture perfect night for action would see Tyler Carpenter, KC Burdette, Cruz Vandall, Chris Wise, Bryson Long and Mack Brookover garner trips to the KMA Auto Victory Lane. It was a super cool evening as we paid tribute and remembered the Valley’s biggest fan, Keith Barker with a fantastic night of racing he would have loved.

A very stout 28 car Las Trancas Super Late Model field would pack into the pits with five thousand dollars on the line in the prestigious Keith Barker Memorial and offer up an exquisite night of short track racing. Parkersburg, WV’s Tyler Carpenter would leave no doubt in picking up his third consecutive Barker Memorial in the races 4th Annual event. The talented shoe would set fast time, snare the ‘Dash 4 Cash’ and lead all 35 laps to secure the popular win and grab his 6th win of the season at the Valley. Finishing behind Carpenter was the triumphant return of Ronnie Mayle as the likeable driver from Chesterhill, Ohio would pick up runner-up pay in his first race back after a lengthy layoff due to a crash earlier in the season. Doug Dodd would parlay his hard charging style to a 3rd place finish followed by Corey Conley and Josh Hall.

It was Déjà vu’ once again in the Polymer Services UMP Modified division as KC Burdette would pass early leader Kyle Bond to capture his 8th straight feature win. A stout field of 23 modifieds would arrive looking for the big Keith Barker winner check but at the checkered flag it was the kc44 machine heading back to his second home, the KMA Auto Victory Lane. Following Burdette was current point leader Kyle Bond, Tyler Carpenter in the RC3, Chad Roush and Larry Bond.

Charleston, WV’s Cruz Vandall would park the Vandall Tree Service #00 machine in the KMA Auto Victory Lane in the Pike Street Lanes Sportmod division. Vandall would pick up his second consecutive win in the very competitive 23 car field. It was the final race of the inaugural MOV-FWD Championship presented by Sycamore Home Inspection in the Bill’s Auto Salvage 4 Cylinder division. A terrific four car battle at the head of the field would battle it out all race long as Chris Wise would eventually wrestle the lead away from Jacob McDaniel. With Wise’s victory it would seal the deal in crowning him the MOV-FWD Champion along with capturing the Keith Barker Memorial. Following Wise was McDaniel, Dennis Adkins, Randy Wise and Josh Ayers.

The youngsters of the Mike’s Auto Body WRA division would kick things off with Bryson Long and Mack Brookover scoring the victories. In the Young Gun division it would be a familiar site as young Bryson Long would notch win #10 of the season ahead of Walker Slayton and Ryder Parsons. The Veteran division would see Mack Brookover pick up his fourth win in only five tries during the 2022 season. Following Brookover was Avie Sprouse and Colin Knox. Congrats to Colin Knox for a hard earned 2022 Veteran Ohio Valley Speedway track championship.
