The return of the SLMR late models to Park Jefferson Speedway
One of the fan favorite nights of racing is this Saturday at Park Jefferson Speedway as the SLMR makes their annual trek north to the Park Jefferson oval. The Malvern Bank sponsored series will bring a talented field of late models to the 4/10th mile oval where for over 20 years, they were the featured attraction. Thanks to the great people at Zeitner Trucking, Park Jefferson will be offering a large purse of $2000 to win and $400 just to start the late model feature.
Norfolk’s Tad Pospisil sits atop the SLMR point standings with 4 feature wins in the 12 features this season. Pospisil holds a slim lead over Kyle Berck, with Corey Zeitner, Jesse Sobbing and Bill Leighton rounding out the top five spots. Sobbing, whom many fans will recognize, has made a very successful conversion from the United States Modified Touring series to the late models, will definitely be one to watch as he dominated the first half of the 2016 USMTS show at Park Jefferson
Joining the late models will be a full night of weekly IMCA action as many of the point battles are wrapping up with only 3 weeks left of track point racing. The IMCA Modifieds could be very exciting as fans remember the heated battle between track point leader Bob Moore and Justin Zeitner on last year’s undercard featuring the SignMasters IMCA Modifieds.
