Midwest Sprint Touring Series

MSTS360 unveils exciting 2019 schedule

The Property Solutions of America Midwest Sprint Touring Series has 26 nights of racing on the calendar for 2019. The best of the Midwest will repeat many track from the 2018 schedule while returning to two speedways for the first time in several years.

The season starts with the second running of the $10,000 to win South Dakota Sprint Car Nationals at Park Jefferson Speedway. The big payout of the inaugural event went to Eric Lutz. The co-sanctioned event with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprint Series presented by Malvern Bank is April 26 – April 27. That is the first of three events at the North Sioux City, South Dakota speedway. Both MSTS and Nebraska 360s return to the track on May 11 and May 25 for the Memorial Day Clash.

For the first time since 2016, MSTS will make the tow to I-80 Speedway. Joining the Nebraska 360s for the May 3 Bobby Parker Memorial will mark just the second appearance for MSTS in Greenwood, Nebraska. Jack Dover won the only MSTS appearance at I-80 on July 21, 2016. Jason Martin is the defending champion of the event.

Jackson Motorplex will welcome MSTS for 10 nights of racing – each of those teamed up with the NSL Midwest Power Series and paying at least $3,000 to win. Jack Dover has the most career MSTS wins at Jackson Motorplex with five – three of those coming in 2018. Gregg Bakker, Thomas Kennedy, Dominic Scelzi, Jordan Martens, Justin Henderson and Ryan Bickett also won MSTS events at Jackson in 2018.

After sitting dormant since the end of 2015, I-90 Speedway will reopen in 2019. The Hartford, South Dakota, speedway will host four nights of Property Solutions of America MSTS racing – those dates include May 18, June 8, July 6 and July 20. Defending series champion Lee Grosz has one MSTS feature win at I-90 Speedway while Troy Schreurs also took a victory in 2015 – the inaugural MSTS season.

Rapid Speedway is always a popular destination of the MSTS circuit. The Rock Rapids, Iowa, raceway has four dates of MSTS sprint car action. Three Friday night events (May 24, June 14 and September 6) plus the Lyon County Fair races of Tuesday, July 23 will give fans of northwest Iowa’s action track plenty to cheer about. Grosz won at the track three times in 2018 and Dover took the other trophy.

Off Road Speedway will again welcome MSTS and the Nebraska 360s together twice in 2019. The always-exciting track just outside of Norfolk, Nebraska, filled the stands twice in 2018 with Jody Rosenboom and Dover taking the victories. The two tours collide at Off Road’s oval on June 22 and August 24.
Finally, Wagner Speedway will host the series championship on Saturday, September 14. The ultra-high banked oval had Dover win twice in 2018, while Tyler Drueke and Kennedy also scored victories there over the 2018 campaign.

All of that adds up to 26 nights of racing at seven different facilities across four states. The schedule is currently tentative, meaning some events could change dates and more events could be added. As always, get the very latest on the Midwest Sprint Touring Series online at www.MSTS360.com.
