Park Jefferson International Speedway
98 cars tackle Park Jefferson on Advance Auto Parts Night
Advance Auto Parts Night brought a full night of IMCA racing along with makeup of the North vs South Sprint Car Shootout from earlier this year. In all 98 competitors took to the Park Jefferson oval on an exciting night of racing.
It was the State of Nebraska that had cause to celebrate as Cody Ledger was able to take his Nebraska based 35L to victory lane. Ledger started outside row 1 and was able to hold off Jason Martin and Tommy Barber in a caution filled affair at the track. Jack Dover, Jody Rosenboom and Ryan Bickett took heat race wins.
Invaders Mike Moore and Kaleb Johnson put on a whale of a show in the Stevenson Hardware IMCA RACESaver Sprints as Moore was slicing and dicing with Johnson on the wide surface to come home in the top spot. Johnson was second and division sponsor Brandon Stevenson finished third. Matt Fredericksen and Moore won the heats.
Vermillion South Dakota’s Karl Brewer has long been a stout competitor at the track, but the IMCA Rookie just picked up his first $550 check for winning the IMCA Modifieds this past Saturday at Park Jefferson. Brewer was able to beat Jim Thies and Shane Demay to win his first Artworks Graphics Modified feature at the track.
The J&J Fitting Stock Cars saw Greg Taylor take the win as Ryan Harris battled him all race long but came just short. Taylor bested Harris and Brenton Palmer for the win. Heats went to Palmer and Jason Ward.
The IMCA Sport Modifieds saw Cody Thompson with an unpopular win. A handful of wayward slide jobs by the Sioux City hot shoe had drivers and fans roaring in disapproval. Rusty Montagne was second and rookie Cade Richards third. Richards and Camerson Vande Weerd wond the heats.
The Hobby Stocks saw veteran Craig Clift jump out to the lead after passing a handful of cars. Clift gave it his all but a rear bumper courtesy of track point lead Zach Ankrum saw Clift push up the track and the 68X roar to another victory on the season. Ankrum is having a resurgent season at Park Jefferson. Clift was second and Paul Menard third. Heats went to Aaron Shearn and Mitch Schultze.
The Sport Compact feature was won by Connor Brown over Brian Long and Auston Honeycutt.
Park Jefferson is quiet this Saturday before returning to action Monday night for the IMCA Dirt Knights invasion.
