Dover Bound for Park Jefferson and Huset’s This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (May 4, 2022) – A wet start to the 2022 season has slowed Jack Dover, who is aiming to triple his race count this weekend.

Dover plans on competing in his No. 53 sprint car on Saturday at Park Jefferson International Speedway in North Sioux City, S.D., during a Midwest Sprint Touring Series event before making his season debut in the Rick and Chris Bowers’ No. 81 sprint car on Sunday at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D.

“I’m looking forward to getting some racing in this weekend,” he said. “Hopefully we can have some good weather and make some laps. It hasn’t been an ideal first month to the season with all of the rainouts.”

Dover, who hasn’t competed in a little more than a month because of inclement weather, is hopeful to continuing his winning ways at Park Jefferson International Speedway. He picked up a victory during his most recent start at the track in May 2020. Dover also won two races at the oval in 2018, two in 2017, three in 2016, one in 2015 and his first in 2014.

“It’s just one of those tracks that seems to suit me,” he said. “I’ve been fortunate to be able to win a lot of races there and be a contender in the ones we didn’t win. The goal is to get our first win of the season on Saturday.”

Sunday’s Cressman Sanitation Shootout marks the start of a second straight season of running full time at Huset’s Speedway, where Dover finished fourth in the championship standings and garnered the Rookie of the Year Award last year. It was the first time since 2007 that he competed regularly in the 410ci sprint car division and it paid off as Dover scored his first career 410 triumph.

“We exceeded our expectations last year and are aiming to take another step forward this season,” he said. “Rick and Chris put a lot of work into their team in the offseason so I can’t wait to get the season underway with them.”
