Format for Oil Capital Clash Announced!

DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (March 9, 2020) - Officials with the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by the Hi Plains Building Division have announced the format and purse details for the 4th Annual Oil Capital Clash III and 3rd Annual Terry Walker Memorial that will be held at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Thursday-Saturday, March 12-14, 2020.

The Clash will feature all three Lucas Oil NOW600 National Series divisions: Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class and Restricted 'A' Class along with Sportsman and Junior Sprints all three nights.

Saturday nights finale will be the Terry Walker Memorial with all classes (except Junior Sprints) racing for 27-laps.

Non-Wing and A-Class on Saturday will compete for $527 to win each, Restricted and Sportsman will race for $327. Junior Sprints will race for $127 to win!

The Format: ALL CLASSES

No split field. All drivers will compete on both qualifying nights as combined points from Heat Races, B-Mains, and Mains will set the lineup for Top 6 on Saturday night. Any tie in points will be broken by Friday’s finish.

NOW600 Format will be utilized with draw in for Heat Race starting position and passing points to determine drivers who advance to the B-Mains and A-Main.

On Thursday and Friday, Top 14 in Passing Points from Heat Races will move into the 25-lap Main. The highest passing point driver will draw for the invert at the NOW600 trailer during intermission. Remainder will fall into the nights B-Main's. Lineup will be done by passing point totals.

If one B-Main is needed, the top 6 drivers will advance to the A-Main. If two B-Main’s, then the top three, if three B-Main’s, then the top two. All B-Main's will be 12-laps or 10 minutes.

Following the completion of Friday’s program event points will be totaled with the Top 6 locked in, straight up, into Saturday’s Main Event. All other drivers will run a complete show on Saturday night.

NOW600: Thursday and Friday Race Points will follow the following scale:

Heat Races:
