Ransomville ready’s for 2019 season with a productive full fender driver’s meeting!

Ransomville, NY ……….. Ransomville officials were greeted to a great turnout of race teams at the Ransomville Fire Hall Thursday night to work on the 2019 rule packages for Street Stocks and 4 Bangers. One of the big topics discussed in both meetings was regarding the line up procedures for 2019. For the first 4 weeks of the 2019 season, Ransomville will utilize a draw/redraw system. After 4 weeks, the track will review the procedures with the teams to decide whether to continue the draw/redraw system or revert back to handicapping by money won.

The 7:00 portion of the drivers meeting greeted the 4 Banger class to go over the 2019 rules. It was agreed upon by most in attendance that it would be beneficial to work closer with local area tracks. After some healthy debate, the drivers voted to follow the FWD portion of Genesee Speedway Rules package, with the exception of utilizing D.O.T. only tires. This will enable Ransomville teams to travel on Saturdays, without having to change their cars. It was also agreed upon that moving forward, the 4 Banger Class will now be officially known as the Gippsters Collision Mini Stock Class. “The name change reflects a more professional direction that everyone wants to take the class” commented Ransomville General Manager Jenn Martin. “Our Mini Stocks put on a great show every week and we want them to know that we really appreciate them at the track”. In addition to the name change and rules package, Ransomville has also begun talks to have a small mini series with local area tracks in 2019. Details will be forthcoming.

The 8:00 Street Stock was greeted by a large contingent of local area teams, with some Canadian teams as well. The main theme of the meeting was an attempt to stabilize the Ransomville SS rules package, while also attempting to make it as easy as possible for Canadian Thunder Stock teams to compete without changing their cars. After some give and take, the following rules were agreed upon:

  1. Weight will be 3000, with 150 lbs added for Powerglide cars, aligning with Canadian weights. There will be no other weight breaks granted.

  2. To match up with Canadian rules, Ransomville cars will be allowed bead locks.

  3. 2019 Thunder Stock cars will be 100% legal

For 2019, Ransomville is also working with Humberstone to come up with a 4 race mini series to give our cars some opportunity to travel. The ever popular King of the Hill race will also be back in 75 lap form.

Officials are also continuing to work on the 2019 Schedule. Please stay tuned for updates as we will be releasing more exciting 2019 plans soon!
