EMPIRE SUPER SPRINTS RETURN TO THE "BIG R" ON AUGUST, 14 2020
RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. (November 25, 2019) - Ransomville Speedway will welcome back The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints for the first time in over 10 years when the winged sprint cars take to the “Big R” on August 14, 2020 in a special doubleheader with the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds.
The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) is one of the most prominent touring series for 360 Sprint Cars in our region, holding events across New York, Ontario and Quebec. Paulie Colagiovanni of Cicero, N.Y. was recently crowned the 2019 ESS tour champion after amassing seven wins this past season. Chuck Hebing, Jonathan Preston, Jason Barney, Billy VanInwegen and Davie Franek were among the notable drivers to also take home a checkered flag with the ESS in 2019.
The ESS were regular visitors to Ransomville in the late 1980s and 1990s. Their last race at the “Big R” came in 2009 when Jason Barney claimed the victory. Gordy Button, Mike Van Dusen, John Birosh, Tom Taber, George Suprick, Craig Keel and Lance Yonge have also visited victory lane at the facility in ESS competition.
A twin bill of 358 Modifieds and Sprints will make for a can’t miss show on Friday, August 14. The Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Stevenson’s Hardware Novice Sportsman will also be in action that night.
Ransomville Speedway will be announcing additional special events for the 2020 season in the coming weeks, including more sprint car events. Stay tuned to the speedway’s website and social media channels for the latest news.
