Final Points Night for Modifieds, Sportsman, and Street Stocks plus Demo Derby Highlight Team Spirit and Sean Letts Memorial Night

RANSOMVILLE, NY (August 28, 2023) Three track champions will be crowned this coming Friday night as it is the final points night for the Krown Undercoating Modifieds, Hy-Tech Concrete DIRTcar Sportsman, and the KiPo Motors Street Stocks. The Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman and the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks are also on the card. It is also Team Spirit Night and DNA Towing & Junk Cars will be presenting the Fall Harvest Demolition Derby. Perry Auctions, DNA Towing & Junk Cars, Lawns Unlimited, Grandma D’s Pizzeria, Niagara Lawn and Garden, and Niagara Frontier Publications will present the racing action on Friday night. Friday night will also be the Sean Letts Memorial for the Hy-Tech Concrete DIRTcar Sportsman.

For team spirit night, fans are encouraged to decorate their section of the grandstands and show their support to their favorite drivers.

All Mat Williamson will have to do on Friday night is take the green flag to earn his third Krown Undercoating Modified track championship. Chad Brachmann sits 56 points behind Williamson. Brachmann has a 42-point lead over Pete Bicknell, who has an eight-point lead over Scott Kerwin for third place. Greg Martin is 30 points behind Kerwin, with Jesse Cotriss just 12 points behind Martin.

It is a four-car battle for the Hy-Tech Concrete DIRTcar Sportsman track championship. Jim Harbison leads defending divisional champion Derek Wagner by a single point, with Cameron Tuttle 19 points behind Harbison, and Senek 20 points behind Harbison. Harbison needs to finish just one position ahead of Wagner to “control his destiny”. If Wagner finishes one position ahead of Harbison, it will be determined by where Tuttle and Senek finish. If Wagner wins the race and Harbison finishes second, Wagner will win the title for the second straight year. If either Tuttle or Senek win the race, Harbison and Wagner would both have to finish tenth or worse for one of them to capture the crown. The battle for fifth in points is also up for grabs as going into Friday, Jessica Kriegisch has a ten-point lead over both Nelson Mason and Dave DiPietro.

The Hy-Tech Concrete DIRTcar Sportsman event will also pay tribute and honor to Sean Letts with the running of the Sean Letts Memorial. Sean Letts tragically passed away in March 2018 at the age of 30. Sean was a graduate of Lew-Port Central School and attended the NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville, NC. Sean was an avid sportsman and enjoyed being behind the wheel of a racecar. The #40SL was competitive in every race that Sean drove, including visiting victory lane in both the Sportsman and Street Stock ranks at Ransomville Speedway.

In the KiPo Motors Street Stocks, it is a two-man race for the title between Ken Camidge and Chris Dziomba. Entering Friday night, Camidge has a 14-point lead over Dziomba. Camidge will need to place ahead of Dziomba to clinch the title. If Dziomba wins the race, Camidge would have to finish 8th or worse for Dziomba to win the track championship.

The night will conclude with the Fall Harvest Demolition Derby, featuring any truck, van, and SUV’s no bigger than ¾ ton. Rules for the demo derby can be found under the rules tab at www.ransomvillespeedway.com or you can contact DNA Towing & Junk Cars at (585) 205-4731 or find them on Facebook.
