ASCS Elite Non-Wing Texas Panhandle Bound For Combined $8,500 Payday!

Bryan Hulbert – AMARILLO, Texas (July 11, 2023) Making their annual run to the Texas Panhandle, the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series presented by Abilene Powder Coating will take on the Jay Jonas Avenger 35 at West Texas Raceway on Friday, July 14, and the G.W. Southwestern Championship at Route 66 Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 15.
$3,500 to win at Lubbock’s West Texas Raceway, Saturday in Amarillo will up the payout to $5,000 to win for a combined $8,500 if anyone can sweep the weekend.
Run in honor of the late Jay Jonas, who was the founder of Avenger Chassis in El Paso, Texas, events at West Texas Raceway are presented by Superior Trailer, Texas Sign, The Secret Place, CSR Garage, and Krause Landscaping. Justin Zimmerman won last year’s inaugural event.
Friday, July 14, opens at 6:00 P.M. with racing at 8:00 P.M. (CDT) and includes WTR Jr Cyclones, WTR Street Stocks, USRA Stock Cars, USRA Limited Mods, and USRA Modifieds. Honoring G.W. Elkins on Saturday, previous champions of the Southwestern Championship include John Carney II (2015), Johnny Miller (2016), R.J. Miller (2017 and 2018), Wyatt Burks (2019), Keith Martin (2020), Justin Zimmerman (2021), and Caden McCreary (2022).
July 15 opens at 5:30 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (CDT). Other divisions include USRA Limited Modifieds, Street Stocks, and USRA Modifieds.
