Ameri-Flex / OCRS Sprints Poised For The Salina Highbanks
Tulsa OK (July 5, 2016) - This Saturday night will see the return of the zany, wild, wreck-less and thrilling sprint cars of the Ameri-Flex Hose & Accessories backed Oil Capital Racing Series at the Salina Highbanks Speedway. The Ameri-Flex / OCRS speed demons last hit the soil of the Salina Highbanks on May 14th where Norman Oklahoma's Sheldon Barksdale scored his third win of the year, which is currently a season high. Barksdale would like nothing more than to double up on the Highbanks this weekend.
Saturday night will be the second of three trips to the Highbanks as the series will return for a third and final time in 2016 on August 20th. In addition to Barksdale, several other quality drivers are expected at the Highbanks to compete all out for top honors. Drivers such as: Current Ameri-Flex / OCRS point leader Zach Chappell, defending champion Robert Sellers, Whit 'Gasman' Gastineau, a 2-time winner on tour, Alex Sewell, another 2-time winner, Matt Sherrell, Shayla "Princess' Waddell, Shane Sellers and the most recent feature winner of 2016, Johnny 'Hotrod' Kent.
Other drivers who have answered the early roll call bell include: Perry Pickard, Terry Easum, Morgan Fletcher, Alex DeCamp, Tim Kent and local favorite, Glen Passmore. Several more gunslingers are expected to answer the bell for the $1500 to win event.
With temperatures creeping upward, fans may opt for a little VIP treatment at the Salina Highbanks. The Finishline Restaurant is stationed high above the massive track and offers great food, seating and air conditioning. Private suites may be available as well. Come race time, it will be three weeks since the Ameri-Flex / OCRS warriors went into battle mode, look for them to come out swinging this Saturday!
