The May 19th, 2018 racing program was a stellar show with nearly ninety drivers on hand to compete for NASCAR Whelen All-American Series points. By the end of the night four drivers visited Bull Tuff Mud Company Ready Mix Victory Lane for the first time this season while another nabbed his second win of the season.

The S&J Plumbing Pure Stocks may have once again been the “race of the night” as the 15-lap Feature was highlighted by three and four-wide racing and a photo finish. By the time the cream had risen to the top Jordon Shive and Nathan Campbell were left to battle for the lead. The two drivers utilized two distinct grooves with Shive rolling the bottom and Campbell working the high side. Shive led late, although Campbell was able to grab the top spot on lap 13 before surrendering it back to Shive who held on over Campbell by a 0.059 second advantage at the checkered flag. JD Jackson won the B-Main and drove up to finish third, Paul Dilbeck finished fourth, and Billy Arnold finished fifth after starting 14th.

The Super Stock division began the “streak of firsts” for the evening. Dalton Garrison raced to the early lead and paced the field for the opening six circuits of the 15-lap affair. However, by lap seven Andy Morris proved to be the car to beat taking command from the tenth starting spot. Morris continued to stretch his advantage over the final nine laps before taking his first win since the track’s re-opening. Jeff Metcalf started alongside Morris on row five and drove his way to the runner-up spot. Garrison, Jason Wayne, and Toby Lindell completed the top five.

The Modified A-Main can be summarized simply as the Jonathon Beyer show. Beyer left no doubt leading all 20 laps to pick up his first Feature win since the 2014 season. The win was also Beyer’s first in a Modified as all other wins came in what was then the track’s 360 Modified division. Perennial front runners Mitch Keeter and Tyler Wolff broke early in the evening’s contest; Keeter, the defending track champion exited on lap four, while current point leader, Tyler Wolff’s night ended on lap eight. Justin Rexwinkle finished in second after missing last week, Brett Hansen started eighth and finished third in his first Modified start of the season, Nathan Hagar started and finished in the fourth position, and Chase Sigg advanced five positions to finish fifth in his season debut.

The AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories B-Mod A-Main had its share of excitement specifically in the late stages of the 20 lap main event. Carl Conley II led the first eleven laps before Cody Jolly led the twelfth lap. However, Conley was able to bounce back to reclaim the lead with Jolly left to contend with Brian Williams in a race for second. Jolly and Williams got together on entry to turn three and a few laps later the duo got together again in turn four. The result was a black flag for Williams and Jolly being sent tailback. The late caution did nothing to impair Conley though, as the veteran raced on to his first win since 2015. Justin Shoemaker finished second from the ninth starting spot. Jeran Frailey had by far his best night of the season thus far finishing in third, while Clint Johnson and B-Main number one winner, Dylan Cantwell were granted top five finishes by virtue of Shane Collins being penalized two positions for jumping on a late race restart.

The Custom Coatings Trophy Cars rolled out to cap the evening off with a 15-lap Feature event. Bobby Edwards, who was the runner-up in the first Trophy Car event won, Craig Boldt finished second, Karla Leland third, and Dakota Moorehead fourth.
