Salina Highbanks Speedway
Funkadelic Dirt Track & Honky Tonk Extravaganza Modified show this Saturday
Here we go race fans. The Memorial Day weekend back in May was a washout at the Salina Highbanks Speedway and with it went Joe Duvall's Funkadelic Dirt Track & Honky Tonk Extravaganza special modified race. Fret not as this event gets another shot to perform on the Highbanks with two groups of modifieds challenging each other for dirt track supremacy.
In one corner is the USRA sanctioned Heartland Modified Series along with another USRA group, the American Racer Modified Series. The ring leader of all this, Joe Duvall himself, didnt take it easy on his peers last year as he took the victory laurels from the competition. That was similar to inviting your friends to come over for a big poker game at your house and taking their money. Duvall will need to be on his A-Game once more as a contingent of gunslingers are at the ready to be king of the Highbanks themselves. In looking at the top 5 in points for each group, we anticipate some of the the following drivers taking on the challenge this Saturday night:
Heartland Modified Series Top 5:
- Brandon Givens of Wichita, Kansas
- Shadron Turner of St. Joseph, Missouri
- Tad Davis of Mt. Hope, Kansas
- Bobby Williams of Hermitage, Missouri
- Wyatt Gaggero of Wichita, Kansas
American Racer Modified Series Top 5:
- Gary Christian of Broken Bow, Oklahoma
- Kale Westover of Altus, Oklahoma
- Manuel Williams of Fouke, Arkansas
- Sean Gaddis of Diana, Texas
- Trevor Hughes, Westville, Oklahoma
In addition, a bevy of local and regional modified talent will join these two racing series as a total of 45 drivers competed in this event in 2024. Want more cars? We got them as the NASCAR sanctioned Advanced Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series will also be on the program. Servpro of Mayes & Wagoner Counties B-Mods, Dawson Roofing Super Stocks, AmeriFlex Hose Factory Stocks, S&J Plumbing Pure Stocks, Colvin Aircraft FWD and RWD Trophy Cars will see action.
This will be a GREAT VALUE as the general admission prices will only be 15 bucks! That's right, a swarm of top quality modifieds coming to the Highbanks for just $5 more than the normal Saturday night show and military general admission and kids 12 & under are only $5! This is what we mean by a GREAT VALUE. Load up the family and maybe stuff a neighbor or two into the car and head to the Salina Highbanks for the Funkadelic Dirt Track & Honky Tonk Extravaganza!
