Owens Scores $10k Victory at Senoia
SENOIA, Ga. (July 1) — Fourth-starting Jimmy Owens of Newport, Tenn., used the high line to take the lead on a lap-16 restart and survived several late cautions to win Saturday's 50-lap Independence Shootout at Senoia Raceway. He earned $10,000 in the event co-sanctioned by the Ultimate Southeast Super Late Model Series and Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.
Seventh-starting Carson Ferguson of Linconton, N.C., was second at the finish, while Pearson Lee Williams of Dublin, Ga., started 15th and finished third. Ninth-starting Dalton Cook of Salem, Ala., was fourth with 11th-starting Ben Watkins of Lancaster, S.C., rounding out the top five.
