HMS Update - USAC Southwest vs. NMMRA

This weekend we are taking the tops off and heading south for a duel on the border as the USAC Southwest and NMMRA sprint cars faceoff for the second year in a row! Tomorrow the action gets started at El Paso Speedway Park and then on Saturday it shifts to Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, NM. I am more than excited to do some nonwing racing again, especially at El Paso and Las Cruces. Last year I didn’t have a great night in El Paso but the second night in Las Cruces was what I consider to be one of my best races, running 3rd to Rickey Hood and Charles Davis, just ahead of Jeff Swindell. I’m hoping to repeat that success and also carry over some of the things we learned at Canyon Speedway Park a month or so ago when we posted two top 5 finishes in back to back nights. With the two divisions squaring off the car count is expected to be high (it was above 40 last year) and the completion will certainly be tough! I’m going into this weekend with a lot of confidence and I know our car is capable of winning, it’s just up to me in the seat to get it done and put the Napa, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Momentum Racing Suspensions, Jackson Compaction 74x in victory lane. I will try as always to post updates through the night and I’ll have a detailed update when the weekend is over!
