T&N Dairy Kreme Mini Wedges Took To The NEW Track on 5/6/2023!

Opening night was May 6th, 2023 with the T&N Dairy Kreme Riverside Gear & Axle Mini Wedges starting our program. Our Senior Division Heat Race #1 lineup: Abbey Meyers, Bobby Johnson, and Hunter Pierman. Once the green flag flew Bobby Johnson and Abbey Meyers went for a hard battle but it was Hunter Pierman (Climax, MI) who clinched the win for Heat 1 for the Senior Division.

Heat Race #2 lineup: Brooklyn Hopwood, Dylan Casaday, and LJ Pierman. All three competitors had a great battle going in to turns 1 and 2 unfortunately Dylan Casaday ran out of real estate and went off the backstretch bringing out our 1st caution on lap 1 (complete restart since no laps were completed). Coming to the restart, Casaday and Pierman make contact and it's Pierman with the advantage in turn 1. On lap 5 Dylan Casaday goes under LJ Pierman for 2nd coming to the white flag LJ Pierman goes off the track off turn 4 bringing out our 2nd caution. Once we went back to racing, it was a 2 lap dash for the win with Brooklyn Hopwood (Scotts, MI) winning Heat Race #2.

Heat Race #3 lineup: LJ Pierman, Dylan Casaday, and Brooklyn Hopwood. LJ Pierman early leader once the green flag flew Casaday wasting no time as he went to the inside to challenge Pierman. Caution flew as an infield tire made its way on to the track. After that it was smooth sailing as LJ Pierman wins Heat Race #3.

Heat Race #4 lineup: Hunter Pierman, Abbey Meyers, and Bobby Johnson. After the green flag, Abbey Meyers passed Hunter Pierman for the lead and Hunter Pierman made the pass on Bobby Johnson for 2nd and then played defense after that. On lap 4 in turn 4 Pierman makes a mistake allowing Johnson to go to the inside Johnson wins the battle in turns 1 & 2. Coming to 1 to go Hunter Pierman spins in turns 3 & 4 bringing out our 1st caution for Heat 4. Green came out and Abbey Meyers was able to hold off Bobby Johnson and Hunter Pierman for the win.

JUNIOR DIVISION HEAT RECAP

Heat Race #1 lineup: Casen Garrett, Brooklyn Pierman, Colby Brownlee, Carson Vainner, and Owen Ritter. Brooklyn Pierman falling back fast as the green flag came out, no excitement until Carson Vainner would spin out in turns 3 & 4 bringing out our 1st caution. On the final lap Colby Brownlee picks up the win for Heat 1.

Heat Race #2 lineup: Owen Ritter, Carson Vainner, Colby Brownlee, Brooklyn Pierman, and Casen Garrett. After the green flag, Carson Vainner and Colby Brownlee raced hard in 1 and 2, but Carson Vainner loops it in 2 bringing out our 1st caution. Once we went back to racing, Owen Ritter picked up right where he left off and he had a great battle behind him between Brownlee and Vainner. Brownlee able to get around Vainner for 2nd. Owen Ritter (Battle Creek) won Heat Race #2.

JUNIOR FEATURE RECAP

Junior Feature Lineup: Casen Garrett, Brooklyn Pierman, Owen Ritter, Carson Vainner, and Colby Brownlee. Casen Garrett jumped out to the early lead while Colby Brownlee saw a hole on the inside and made a half a lap pass by the field to get to 2nd. On lap 3 Brownlee and Garrett drag race for the lead and Brownlee is the new leader in 4. Brooklyn Pierman would bring out our 1st caution in the event. After the restart, Brownlee and Garrett make contact on the backstretch and Brownlee is able to hold on to the lead. Brownlee gets in the back of Pierman to bring out caution #2 and that hands the lead over to Casen Garrett. After the white flag flew Carson Vainner spun bringing out our 3rd caution. Casen Garrett picks up the feature win, Owen Ritter 2nd, Colby Brownlee 3rd, Carson Vainner 4th, and Brooklyn Pierman 5th.

SENIOR FEATURE RECAP

Senior Feature Lineup: Bobby Johnson, Hunter Pierman, LJ Pierman, Abbey Meyers, Brooklyn Hopwood, Dylan Casaday, and Peyton Robison. Abbey Meyers made a pass on Hunter Pierman to move to 2nd. Hunter Pierman spins to bring out a caution. Bobby Johnson wins the Senior Feature with Abbey Meyers, LJ Pierman, Brooklyn Hopwood, Dylan Casaday, and Hunter Pierman.
