Ward Visits Victory Lane at SIS

Beautiful weather and overcast skies gave the drivers and fans a perfect night of racing at Stuart Speedway for the Salute to Veterans and First Responders Night presented by Wyfells Hybrids, Casey's General Stores, Motorsports Warehouse, Corning Rental, Spangler Automotive, Elite Electric, Big Load Trailer Sales, John's Tree Service and Wilson Welding.
IMCA Sport Compacts were the first features on the track and it was Hunter Patrick rocketing to the front with Mitchell Bunch working his way to second around halfway. Bunch and Patrick made contact at the flag stand as the white flag flew. Bunch exited with a flat tire as Patrick took the win and headed to victory lane. Curtis Masterson finished second with Bryan Vannausdle third, John Gill fourth and Tyler Fiebelkorn fifth.
Bryan Morris and Josh Sink brought the IMCA Northern SportMods up to speed next with Brayton Carter taking all of two laps to get to the lead from his seventh starting spot. Dusty Masolini gave chase but there was no catching Speedy Bray on this night as he went on to the dominating win. Garrett Nelson drove through the field after being involved in a lap two incident to finish second with Masolini third, Cam Reimers fourth and Shane Paris fifth.
IMCA Stock Cars were up next with Brad Derry and Brock Badger showing the way to the green flag. Bob Daniels worked through a couple of cautions and used the bottom of the track to take over the lead just before halfway and cruised to the feature win. Badger finished second with Buck Schafroth third, Keith Simmons fourth and Josh Daniels fifth.
Cody Housby and Gage Hilgenberg brought the Outlaw Mini Mods to the track next with Luke Daniels leading until a lap nine spin to the infield. That gave the lead and the eventual win to Kamdyn Haggard. Bobby Daniels finished second with Chase Daniels third, Dan Kline fourth and Matt Prehn fifth.
IMCA Hobby Stocks came out next with David Bailey and Patrick Pellman on the front row. Dylan Nelson took advantage of Brandon Cox spinning on the backstretch to take over the top spot at the halfway point of the race. One more caution on lap eleven slowed the field but no one was challenging the reigning IMCA Supernationals champion as he went on to the win. Bailey hung on for second with Cox third, Matt Wahl fourth and Aaron Rudolph fifth.
Last up for the night was the IMCA Modifieds with Chase Rudolf and Tony Cox on the front row. Lap one saw a melee in turn one with everyone able to drive away, and once the green flew it was Tim Ward finding the top spot with Todd Shute in tow. Tom Berry Jr passed Shute on lap four and set out to track down Ward, but as the race wound down and lap traffic set in it was Ward working the traffic masterfully to take the feature win. Berry Jr wound up in second with Shute third, Ethan Dotson fourth and Rudolf fifth.
We want to thank all of the drivers, crew and fans for coming out to support the speedway. We’ll be back in two weeks on August 19th for Hall of Fame Night presented by Pitt's Lawn Service, Excel Floor Covering, VIP Contractors, Karl Chevrolet of Stuart, Affordable Quality Exteriors, Interstate Power Systems, Rolling Hills Bank, Coke Atlantic Bottling and Pie Five Pizza. See you then!
