Sunset Speedway Park Has Stellar Lineup Of Classes On Tap For Saturday

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park is excited to get back into action this Saturday June 22nd. The Banks bullring will have four classes on the card. Those classes include the Northwest Wingless Tour, Northwest Extreme Modifieds, Street Stocks, and 4-Bees.
The Northwest Wingless Tour will be making their sixth stop of their 2013 schedule on Saturday. They have so far visited SSP twice. In those two visits there have been two different winners with Sterling Kane and Mitch Hoffses both earning wins. Kyle Miller leads the series in total victories this season with two and Kyle Mehner is the only other driver to earn a triumph with the NWWT in 2013.
The Northwest Extreme Modifieds have had a total of five races with two different winners in their inaugural season. Rick Graham leads the division with a dominating four victories over Rob Ireland who has won once.
The always competitive Street Stocks make their return to Sunset Speedway Park. In five races there have been four different winners with defending champion Craig Loomis winning twice this year. Drivers that have visited victory lane once this season includes Brian Roden, Marc Farrar, and John Ireland. In the 4-Bees Jason Blythe became the second driver to win more than once this year. Mike Mastrangelo leads the class in wins as he has achieve three of them over Blythe’s two. John Oyler is the only other winner so far during the campaign with just one trip to the winner’s circle.
For Saturday’s action the front gates open up at 3:30 PM with racing scheduled to start at 6:00 PM. Admission is Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military $10.00, Children (6-12) $5.00, Children (5 and Under) FREE, and Family Pack (Two Adults and Two Children) $30.00.
The Sunset Speedway Park is located just west of the Portland metro area in Banks on the Sunset Highway. From April until October you can get your racing fix at this facility which competes weekly primarily on Saturday nights. Regular classes in action include the NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Bee’s, NW Extreme Modifieds, and the Womens division.
